High School Winter TrainingThe High School winter training program will fill. Please apply early for 2007-2008. Focus of the programFor 2007 - 2008 we have combined our class into one Rowing and Strength Training session. Athletes will be grouped and monitored within the session to train at an appropriate pace. The program is for experienced High School rowers or other athletes who want to build significant aerobic fitness and strength over the winter. Training will be done on Concept II ergs combined with circuit style weight training, plyometrics and body weight exercises to build core strength, explosiveness and overall fitness. A priority is placed on having each athlete develop a more complete understanding of the stroke and of efficient technique that will maximize power application on the water. Athletes will be encouraged to race at CRASH-B sprints, an international indoor rowing race in Boston in February.CoachingTom Bohrer will be the head coach with CB Sands-Bohrer and other highly qualified assistants brought in as needed. Dates:High School Rowing and Strength Training: November 12 to March 7 Programs have with days off for major holidays and school vacations such as Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Winter Break and Martin Luther King Day. Hours/DaysNovember and December: 4:00 - 6:00 Mon/Wed/Thurs January/Feb/March: 4:00 - 6:00 Mon/Weds/Thurs/Friday Daily format: - Arrival and warm up, stretch and discuss daily plan - Rowing and conditioning workouts - Debrief EligibilityCurrent High School girls and boys are eligible to participate.
