Technique on the Water
This provides rowing technique and drills with pictures to illustrate. There are different opinions on technique and we don't expect everyone to agree. Let us know if you have any questions.
- Drills for leaving the dock
- Bungee/Resistance Rowing
- Elbow position on drive and recovery
- Hands down the handle (blade placement and resistance at the catch)
- Open fingers drill (feel resistance of blade in the hands)
- Body Positions for the "Pick Drill" (arms only, arms/back, 1/4, 1/2,3/4 and full slide)
- Skim Drill (blades skim the water on the recovery to teach level hands and and boat set)
