Split Squat

Master this exercise before you do a single leg bench squat.

  • Take an exaggerated step forward.
  • Place hands behind head or to the side.
  • Keep chest and head up, shoulders over hips.
  • Maintain this position as you lower hips to floor.
  • Do not lean forward.
  • Lower the hips to the floor.
  • Keep front knee over ankle.
  • Back knee should touch floor.
  • You will feel a stretch in the back leg hip flexor.
  • Feet should maintain contact with the floor at all times.
