Medicine Ball Push Up

With this exercise you do a standard push-up with one hand on a MB. You have 3 stable points on the ground (2 feet/1 hand) and 1 unstable point (hand on MB). The shoulder will have to stabilize the arm on the MB.

  • Start with hands slightly in front and wider than shoulders.
  • One hand will be on a MB.
  • Back should be flat with shoulders and hips in line.
  • Feet have a wider stance.
  • Draw in belly button towards spine.
  • Lower chest and hips (together) towards floor.
  • Elbows should be in line with upper back.
  • Make sure that elbow of the arm that is on the MB does not come too much above the upper back.
  • Head should stay in neutral position.
  • Do desired number of reps, then switch arms.
