Upright Row Overhead Press

This combines an Upright Row and Overhead Press. Combo exercises are a time efficient way to work different muscle groups and build coordination.

  • Assume an athletic position, knees slightly bent chest out.
  • Hold Dumbbells on thighs, palms facing thigh.
  • Lift weights so they are below the chin.
  • Keep weight close to the body, shoulders stay down.
  • Wrists are flat, elbows higher than wrists.
  • Maintain an athletic position.
  • Do not arch back.
  • Keeping weight near the chin, roll palms away from you in a smooth motion.
  • Press weight overhead, keep weight in front of the ears as it goes over the shoulders.
  • Hold 1-2 seconds and lower back to shoulders.
  • Roll palms toward you.
  • Keep weight close to the body as you bring it down to the thighs.
